Aspen Shortsfest to screen Iran's ‘Solar Eclipse’

The Aspen Shortsfest 2022 in the US is to screen Iranian ‘Solar Eclipse’.

Iranian short flick ‘Solar Eclipse’ has been selected to compete at the 2022 edition of the Aspen Shortsfest in the US.

Co-directed by Raha Amir-Fazli and Alireza Qasemi, the synopsis for the 14-minute film reads, “Just a short time before the solar eclipse, Saqi’s life goes through changes”.

The cast list of the short flick includes Khorshid Cheraghipour, Paniz Esmaeeli, Anita Baqeri, Faraz Modiri, and Peyman Naeemi.

‘Solar Eclipse’ is a co-production of the Iranian company Sixth Side and the French company White Star.

The short film has previously participated in several global events, including the Switzerland-based Shnit Worldwide Short Film Festival, the Show Me Shorts Film Festival in New Zealand, the Nice Film Festival in France, the Rhode Island International Film Festival in the US, and the Minimalen Short Film Festival in Norway, where it garnered an honorable mention.

Founded in 1979, the Aspen Film seeks to enlighten, enrich, educate, and entertain through film. Throughout its history, Aspen Film has been creating unique and memorable experiences for both the serious cinephile and casual movie lover.

The Aspen Film organizes a major movie event in every season, offers an extensive education program, and hosts numerous special presentations. Each year, some 30,000 people participate.

It hosts more than 100 film artists and other special guests every year and collaborates with organizations locally and nationally to put on quality film programs.

The 2022 edition of the event is scheduled for April 5-10.
